Awards

 Received several awards throughout the journey of my life.  Mostly prestigious awards are listed below.

1. UGC Gold Medal 2017

Received “UGC Gold Medal 2017” in the category “Engineering and Technology” for the research article “Carrier Sensing-Based Medium Access Control Protocol for WLANs Exploiting Successive Interference Cancellation,” IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communication, vol. 16, no. 6, pp. 4120-4135, June 2017.  The University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh selected 18 teachers for the year 2016 and 17 teachers for 2017 for UGC Gold Medal for their outstanding contributions to the fundamental research work and writing book. The Gold Medal awarding ceremony was held on 11/09/2018 at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka and the Honorable President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Mr. Md. Abdul Hamid handed over the prestigious “UGC Gold Medal” among 35 teachers of different public and private universities as the Chief Guest of the awarding ceremony in recognition of their fundamental research. UGC Member Professor Dr. Dil Afroza Begum delivered the address of welcome and UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan presided over the ceremony. Education Minister Mr. Nurul Islam Nahid, MP was present in the awarding ceremony as the Special Guest.  Secretaries, Foreign Diplomats, National Professors, UGC Members, Vice-chancellors, Pro-vice-chancellors, Treasures and Registrars from different public and private universities, renowned Educationists and High Officials were present in the awarding ceremony. 

2. Dr. Fatema Rashid Best Paper Award in ICECE 2016

Received Dr. Fatema Rashid Best Paper Award (3rd Position) in the 9th International Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (ICECE) which was held in Dhaka, Bangadesh in December 2016. The award is received for the paper- M. R. Khan and M. F. Uddin, “Impact of phase offset and fading in full duplex MIMO system under antenna cancellation.” M. R. Khan completed his undergraduate thesis under my supervision and published this work.

3. Best Paper Award -Communications in IEEE ICTP 2015

Received Best Paper Award-Communications in the 1st IEEE International Conference on Telecommunications and Photonics (ICTP) which was held in Dhaka, Bangadesh in December 2015. The award is received for the paper- M. S. Mahmud and M. F. Uddin, “Improvement of throughput fairness in IEEE 802.11 based WLANs using successive interference cancellation.” M. S. Mahmud completed his M. Sc. thesis under my supervision.

4. Dr. Fatema Rashid Best Paper Award in ICECE 2014

Received Dr. Fatema Rashid Best Paper Award (1st Position) in the 8th International Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (ICECE) which was held in Dhaka, Bangadesh in December 2014. The award is received for the paper- MM. Z. Haque, M. T. Islam and M. F. Uddin, “Optimal scheduling in MU-MIMO uplink cellular networks." MM. Z. Haque, M. T. Islam completed their undergraduate thesis under my supervision and published this work.
